Prophets
Allah sent His guidance to us through His chosen people. These chosen people are called prophets. They were not gods. They were human beings like us. They were good and noble people.
All the prophets received guidance from Allah. He sent His guidance to them through angel Jibrael. All the prophets worshipped and obeyed Allah. They told us and showed us how to obey and worship Him alone.
The message of all the prophets is the same.
It is means:
“There is no god but Allah.”
A Prophet is called a Nabi in Arabic. A Messenger is called a Rasul. Some of the prophets received books from Allah. A Nabi did not get a book from Allah. A Rasul got a book from Allah.
Allah sent prophets to all people at different times. When people forgot the message of Allah He sent another prophet to remind them of their duty to Him.
The first man on earth was also the first prophet. His name was Hazrat Adam(alai his salam). The last prophet of Allah is Hazrat Muhammad(sal lal la ho alai he wasalam)
Allah’s guidance to us which began with Hazrat Adam(alai his salam) was completed with Hazrat Muhammad(sal lal la ho alai he wasalam). Between Hazrat Adam(alai his salam) and Hazrat Muhammad(sal lal la ho alai he wasalam) there were many prophets. According to a saying of the Holy Prophet(sal lal la ho alai he wasalam), the number of prophets is 124,000. Some of the well-known prophets are:
- 1) Hazrat Nuh(alai his salam)
- 2) Hazrat Ibrahim(alai his salam)
- 3) Hazrat Ishaq(alai his salam)
- 4) Hazrat Yaqoob(alai his salam)

- 7) Hazrat Ismail(alai his salam)
- 8) Hazrat Yusuf(alai his salam)
